AIDS

National AIDS Helpline

AIDS is usually contracted by getting the HIV infection and then that getting worse and becoming AIDS. AIDS is a blood disorder that breaks down the whole immune system. The disease was generally seen to only affect third world countries but is becoming more of a global epidemic every second. People who are at a high risk of catching the disease are people who have had blood transfusions, drug users who inject, children with parents who have HIV or AIDS and people of all sexual orientation practicing unprotected sex.

HIV (Human Immuno-deficiency Virus) or AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) cannot be transmitted through everyday contact. So you cannot pass it on or catch it through sharing cups, shaking hands, using cutlery or using the same bath or toilet.

Don’t be ignorant, people with AIDS have feelings too!!
