    Exercise does not mean using expensive equipment.
  • Exercise means doing something physical that will work up a sweat.
  • Everybody should have some kind of exercise they do everyday, even if it’s just walking the dog for 30 minutes.
  • People exercise for many different reasons; it might be to help lose some weight or to just stay fit.

EXERCISE + HEALTHY DIET = HELPS TOWARDS BEING HEALTHY

Exercise has other benefits such as:

  • Toning up your body
  • Helps you feel relaxed
  • Helps you get better sleep
  • Makes you less likely to get diseases
  • Helps towards improving your posture
  • Makes you more flexible

How much exercise do we need?

The amount of exercise someone needs relates to what they want to achieve (i.e. lose some weight, build some muscles). Keep it in mind that NO exercise is bad for you, is unhealthy and can lead to a shorter life.

Good exercise habits

  • Try walking instead of using the car or get off the bus a stop earlier and walk the rest of the way.
  • Use a bike.
  • Walk up stairs rather than using a lift.

Exercise guidelines

  • Try to get some exercise for about 30 minutes a day.
  • Do not do too much though – just until you are tired.

Effects of exercise

  • The rate of the heart beat will increase.
  • Rate of breathing will increase.
  • Better lung capacity
  • Lower blood pressure
  • Helps you lose weight
  • Helps you keep fit
